Our weather is constantly changing, yet our stormwater controls remain the same. smartPOND™ takes passive stormwater controls and gives them brains, allowing for either pre-programmed stormwater pond management that actively measures and releases stormwater to match your regulatory regime, as well as application-based real time control that allows you to retain or release water at the tip of your fingers. Imagine, an entire watershed can be controlled automatically or at the push of a button.
smartPOND™ is a prepackaged, easy to install, automated water level control and pollutant control system that regulates stormwater depth, release rates, and pollutant discharges (when applicable). Routine inspections can be monitored remotely with the smartPOND™ through the smartPOND online dashboard, giving owners and operators instant feedback. SmartPOND also makes users aware of upcoming system maintenance needs, sending alerts to users’ smartphones/e-mail with advance notice of battery, solar panel or other component maintenance needs. This eliminates the need for routine inspections common in passive stormwater control measures.
SmartPond comes with a one-year warranty and monitoring package. For ease of maintenance, various long-term maintenance programs are available. SmartPOND has three models to meet your stormwater management needs:

ROTARY WEIR
The smartPOND Rotary weir is designed for surface release discharging only the cleanest water and allowing for extended settling time. The on-board transducer and inclinometer allow the smartPOND program to always know where the lip of the weir and water surface elevations are. These two data sets allow for flow control and managing of release rates through, allowing pre-programed discharge when necessary. The 24” x 24” Weir can be connected to the discharge by up to a 24” pipe. It’s construction of 1/8” Powder Coated Steel ensures longevity. The system comes with a Trash Cage over the weir to prevent floatables from discharging downstream.
VALVE
The smartPOND Valve controls a 6” valve and comes in two configurations; the outfall valve and the vault valve. The outfall valve simply sits adjacent to the stormwater impoundment on the backside of a berm or wall. The Vault Valve is deigned into a 30” nyoplast manhole. This prepacked design makes installation simple and prevents mistakes in the field. It also reduces infrastructure costs by elimination the need for large manholes. It is design with a quick release and pickpoint to make maintenance easy without the need for confined space entry. Both the voult valve and outfall valve are equipped with a sensor bay that allows for up to 6 different sensors to be applied to the system for continuous monitoring. This also prevent the water sensor from being placed in the pond, eliminating the need for wires to be run too and from the device like most automated control systems.
KNIFE GATE
The knife gate is designed to manage larger flows. While the weir and the valve are focused on smaller site design and water quality, the knife gate is designed to manage the 100-yr flows. This 36” x 16” slide gate comes preassembled in a 48” x 48” concrete catch basin equipped with a trash cage to prevent the release of floatables. While designed for the real time optimation program, it has the flexibility for both preprogrammed and custom solutions for all your watershed needs.
